Things to do in las vegas, without drinking & gambling

When I told people we were going to Vegas, the first thing people said was an incredulous “but you don’t drink!?!”. Then they commented on the fact I don’t gamble either. People genuinely believed it would be an entirely wasted week.

Vegas is a party city, but it doesn’t have to be. I had an amazing time in Vegas, and only had one daiquiri and spent $20 on the slots. I’ll go back in a heartbeat! Read on for my top tips on what to do in Vegas, without drinking or gambling.

Monthly Playlist: April

By on May 21, 2017

A bit of eclectic playlist for April – we’ve got everything from alt-J to Despacito (I don’t care – I love this song so much. Such a good song to just dance to!). April also brought us Harry Styles’ new music – as someone who was categorically never a One Direction fan I was really surprised by how much I loved it. Crossfit 101 – Introduction To Crossfit.

introduction to crossfit

Crossfit. You’ve probably heard of it. You’ve probably seen people joking about it. You’ve also probably seen someone who swears by it. It seems to be one of the most polarising fitness trends across the board; a bit like Marmite, you either love it or you hate it.

Personally? I love Crossfit. I come from a background of giving everything a go once. I’ve done powerlifting. I’ve done bodybuilding. I’ve done pilates, yoga, rugby, hockey…I’ll try anything once and I usually decide I dislike them pretty quickly. I’d been aware of Crossfit for a good few years before I gave it a go at the end of last year – mainly as bodybuilders and Crossfitters seem to have to be mortal enemies. One thing I did know about it was that it seemed really, really intimidating. The workouts (or WODs, as they’re called) seemed ridiculously impossible. The people at the top of the sport (Katrin Davidsdottir, Matt Fraser, Sara Sigmunsdottir, Rich Froning…), they all seem like they might be part cyborg. This post today is designed to give you a bit of an idea of what Crossfit is, and what the benefits of it are! And no – you don’t have to do anything with ridiculous form.

If you’re new to the Northern Powerhouse or just wondering what the market is looking like, hopefully this post can help you out!
