I’m going to start a dedicated monthly series, purely focusing on specific health topics. I’ll probably still post related bits throughout the month, but this health series is going to focus on things like my fitness & health journey over the last few years, my favourite healthy recipes, at home workouts as well as things like how to improve your relationship with health & posts about confidence. Kicking it off today – my favourite apps to help stay healthy.

One of the biggest objections I hear from people about fitness and health is that they don’t have time. I don’t think that’s true! Sure, maybe you don’t have the time for an hour long workout five times a week, I completely understand that! I personally train for about c8 hours a week and I know that is definitely out of some people’s reach.

But being healthy doesn’t mean dragging yourself to the gym for a class, or finding time to fit in a 5k run. To me, healthy can be little steps that benefit you – can you get off the bus a stop early, or take a walk around the city on your lunch break?

One thing that has helped me a lot has been fitness apps – it’s motivation and workouts right in my pocket, on my terms, when I need it. See below for my absolute favourites! I’ve included a range of apps – from workouts to mindfulness & healthy food! Do you have any you’d suggest?

Thug Kitchen – Cookbook Review

I got Thug Kitchen for my birthday ealier this month…I’d had my eye on it for some time as I’ve been looking to make the move to a more plant-based diet, and one thing that really put me off was the lack of creativity in a lot of “mainstream” vegan cook books. I’m never going to eat a plate of kale and tofu, and I’m definitely not going to convince my meat-loving fiance that it’s worth trying if that’s the way the books are pitching it.

Thug Kitchen is, to put it simply, the antithesis of every other vegan recipe book I’ve ever looked at.

Eating Well On A Budget

Let me preface this post by telling you I was the fussiest eater ever growing up…in fact, up until embarrassingly recently, I was the queen of beige. Double carbs? Yep. Chicken nuggets? Of course. Comes out of a cardboard box and gets cooked in the microwave? Sign me up. Trying something new was not in my vocabulary, and most vegetables were not even an options.

Thanks to a very patient partner and a lot of hard work, I’ve overcome the majority of my fussy ways. But that’s a different post entirely! This post is about how you can eat well – healthily, full of all the best macro and micro nutrients – without breaking the bank.

Improving your eating habits can be intimidating – chia seeds, spirulina, what?! Especially when you start totting up the value of all these super foods and the spiralizer and the air frier…
