Interviews, eh? Everyone hates them. Stressful, nerve-wracking, and you never really come away feeling like you really represented the true you.

They don’t have to be like that. I promise.

I’ve been on both sides of the interview process – the interviewee and the interviewer. I’ve worked in recruitment in a few guises new for about two years, both as a recruitment consultant and as part of an internal recruitment team and I can promise you – pinky swear – they don’t have to be torture. I’ve put together my top tips on how to smash your interview, and I’ll get a post with essential CV tips up soon too!

I love TED Talks. I’m a huge advocate of accessible education and I think TED really supports that – they’re free, short videos that you can easily slot into your day, covering a huge range of topics. You can log on and you can learn anything, from Alzheimer’s research to the experiences of refugees, and anything in between. There’s motivational talks, intelligent talks, funny talks…anything you need, you can find.

I’m thinking about doing a TED series – little blog posts about my favourite talks on certain topics. To get started, it’s just talks that inspire me.

Before I’m 24.

Most people set their resolutions in January…get fit, eat healthier, find a boyfriend, get a pet dog. The usual New Years Resolutions.

Not me.

I’ve never been a believer in them – I know anything big enough to be perfect for a new year will probably fall to pieces by February. Give up chocolate? Not happening. Quit shopping? Never. Get a dog? Well, I can’t have one in my flat.

But for some reason, 23 feels big. Important. Maybe it’s because three is my lucky number. Maybe it’s because I’ve realized I’m secretly 80 years old inside already. 23 is going to be the year I set resolutions…with a bit of leeway of course.
